About PinGo Mobility
Rwanda is ready to move differently — and we’re building the wheels for it. PinGo Mobility is creating Rwanda’s first electric bike-sharing network, designed for the new Africa: clean, affordable, and connected.
We’re here to make short trips faster, greener, and smarter — because in Rwanda, every ride should move more than just people. It should move the future.
Our Core Values
🌱 Sustainability – Movement shouldn’t cost the Earth. From electric bikes to renewable charging, every decision we make reduces emissions and builds a cleaner, greener Rwanda.
🤝 Inclusivity – Mobility is for everyone. We empower women, youth, and underserved communities, ensuring no one is left behind in the transition to clean transport.
💡** Innovation** – We’re not importing ideas; we’re building them here. Smart tech, local design, and data insights prove African solutions can lead global change.
💸 Affordability – Green transport should be accessible, not expensive. Our pricing keeps everyday rides fair, helping commuters save while supporting the local economy.
❤️ Community – PinGo moves with purpose. Through the PinGo Initiative™, we invest in education, STEM talent, and youth entrepreneurship — making every ride a step toward shared progress.
About the Role
We are seeking a Kigali-based Co-Founder & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead PinGo’s fundraising, investment strategy, and financial governance. You will design the systems that ensure PinGo grows sustainably — building investor confidence, maintaining transparency, and guiding capital deployment.
This is a hands-on co-founder role, suited for a financial leader who can translate purpose into measurable performance.
Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Financial Strategy & Fundraising • Lead fundraising efforts across pre-seed, seed, and growth rounds, engaging VCs, DFIs, and impact investors. • Build and maintain 3–5 year financial models, pricing scenarios, and break-even analyses. • Prepare investor decks, term-sheets, and due-diligence documentation. • Identify and secure grants, concessional financing, and sustainability-linked funding. • Manage the company’s capitalization table and shareholder equity agreements.
2️⃣ Financial Planning & Control • Establish financial management systems, budgets, and reporting tools. • Oversee cashflow, forecasts, and expenditure tracking during pilot and expansion. • Implement accounting standards compliant with Rwandan and IFRS regulations. • Collaborate with the COO to optimize procurement and operational spending. • Coordinate quarterly audits, risk assessments, and investor reports.
3️⃣ Strategic Growth & Business Development • Align financial objectives with market expansion and operational goals. • Model future mobility products — e-scooters, charging hubs, and EV infrastructure. • Evaluate partnerships with corporates, universities, and development agencies. • Drive ESG and carbon-credit monetization initiatives. • Advise founders on reinvestment and capital structure optimization.
4️⃣ Reporting & Investor Relations • Produce monthly and quarterly performance reports for investors and boards. • Manage investor communications, ensuring clarity and compliance. • Represent PinGo at accelerator programs, demo days, and finance summits. • Track KPIs and maintain real-time financial dashboards.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Expertise • 3+ years’ experience in finance, investment, or business strategy. • Proven success raising funds or managing venture finance. • Advanced financial modeling and forecasting skills. • Strong knowledge of ESG, impact investing, and development finance. • Understanding of Rwanda’s financial and regulatory environment.
Leadership Qualities • Must be based in Kigali, Rwanda. • Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda (French an advantage). • Strategic thinker able to balance vision with execution. • Excellent communication and presentation skills for investor engagement. • Collaborative, ethical, and data-driven decision-maker.
Preferred Background • Experience in clean tech, mobility, finance, or startups. • Existing network among investors, accelerators, or development organizations. • Previous exposure to capital raises or PPP structures in Africa.
What You’ll Get
💼 Equity + Deferred Salary: Co-founder equity and post-funding salary package.
🌍 Leadership Ownership: Executive-level control over operations and execution.
🧭 Strategic Influence: Help design the blueprint for urban mobility in Rwanda.
📈 Growth Path: Be part of a venture expanding across East Africa.
🤝 Visibility & Partnerships: Represent PinGo in national and international networks.
❤️ Purpose & Legacy: Build something that transforms transport and empowers communities.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and help shape the future of urban mobility in Africa, we want to hear from you.
